I have so many books sitting here waiting to be read that I thought I'd take part in the Spring Reading Thing Challenge. We are just supposed to list some books we'd like to get done with by June 21. Since I am a librarian - I am try to read some in my Jr. High and Teen Section - that means some of my titles will be in that genre. So here's my list:
Cracker! The Best Dog in Vietnam by Cynthia Kadohata READ REVIEW
The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing by M.T. Anderson READ REVIEW
Shanghai Shadows by Lois Ruby
The Jade Dragon by Carolyn Marsden READ REVIEW
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Wild Swans by Jung Chang
Mothers of Famous Men by Archer Wallace
Forever Lily by Beth Nonte Russell READ REVIEW
The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood READ REVIEW
Of course, the list is always open-ended - I will have to add more if I get done with these!!!

I haven't read any of the books on your list. I will have to check them out.
The Kite Runner is simply amazing. I just picked up The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing and am looking forward to reading this one.
Thanks for this list. What a great idea.
More new books to research out at the library!! Enjoy!

Another two thumbs up for The Kite Runner! And it's great to see a classic on your list. I haven't read The Scarlett Letter in ages, but it was one of my faves.
happy spring reading!!
Looks like a great list! I've heard so many good comments about The Kite Runner -- I know I'll eventually have to read that one. Thanks for being part of the challenge!
Some of the best books I have read are from the Jr. High and Teen Section of the Library! With family members that teach that age group, I get a lot of recommendations!
I have Octavian Nothing here in a pile. I started it, but put it down (not because it was boring, but because there was other stuff I "had" to read). I will have to come back here when I get a chance.
I am so excited...I hadn't heard of Cracker before. But I am definitely getting that one for my daughter...she'll absolutely love it, I'm sure. (And then it can make it's way to my TBR pile, too.)
I love classics. Hawthorne is an excellent author. If you like TSL, try The House with Seven Gables. It will not disappoint.
What a great list. I haven't read any but I have heard of some. BTW... I just LOVE your background!!! It's beautiful!!! Happy reading!!!
I haven't even heard of most of your list and love it! I will be looking them up! I will interested what you like, will you post any reviews? Thanks for sharing your list, have fun working your way through them!

Jade Dragon? Is that fantasy or eastern? I'm going to guess the latter.
I hope you do reviews.
