Mumsi Meets a Lion

Kim Stegall sent me a copy of her book, Mumsi Meets a Lion - illustrated by Kimberly Batti. This is a wonderful book set in Kenya about a young boy learning the finer points of life in his land and how to be a strong hunter, but also how to deal with fear on his way to becoming a man. The illustrations just add so much authenticity to this story. Books set in other cultures are great for our readers too - I love that about this book too. I enjoyed it and I think kids will too - especially boys - and I'm always on the lookout for great "boy" books!
