A Drowned Maiden's Hair

Whew - I FINALLY found a good read - wouldn't you know - just go to the Junior High section!!! A Drowned Maiden's Hair by Laura Amy Schlitz is my latest GREAT find. I had read somewhere that it was a good one and wherever it was, they were right!! This is a great tale of an orphan that is adopted by three sisters. It all seems like a fine arrangement until Maud - the orphan - is told she must stay in the upstairs and not be seen. That strikes an odd chord and begins Maud on her search to find out what the sisters are up to. Maud ultimately becomes "part" of their secrets and must decide just how much she is willing to endure for the sake of being loved. It is a tale with many twists and turns - even the ending will keep you going!! I highly recommend this one!

Sounds interesting. It is so nice to pick up a good book after a string of bad ones!

I agree with Stephanie. Sometimes it's hard after reading a REALLY good book, it's hard to follow it up. I just finished The Thirteenth Tale, it was really good, hope my next book is as good. It's A Bride Most Begrudging by Deanne Gist and it's for my book club next Thursday.

Oops I didn't realize you didn't know I actually started my Books and Hooks blog. I still need to start adding links to other blogs, yours will be first on my list!

Hi Becky!

I'm popping over here because you were mentioned in Eileen's (Book and Hooks) blog, so I clicked on the link and it went to mine ("Thoughts of Joy...")! I informed her.

Anyway, what a fun blog. I'm so glad I stopped by. I see I'm linked here, so I'm thinking you won't mind me linking you! :)

I have CROW LAKE on my TBR list. You've made me want to read it ASAP! I love the cover and title of WHEN CRICKETS CRY...very intriguing. I'm going to look into that one.

Happy Reading!
