I AM NOT A QUITTER, but lately I sure feel like one. I started The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde - I LOVE Jane Eyre so thought I would love this one as well. Disappointingly - no, I did not love it, could barely get into it and so I gave up. I am wondering if I should try it again however, since on Amazon it got high reviews. SO - on to my next read - I really need a good one!!!
I quit books all the time. There are so many I love that I won't waste my time reading something I don't.
ReplyDeleteSo do you have any creative ideas for my book blog name? :-) When I wrote my post on my blog yours was one of the book blogs I was talking about. :-) I love it! Can't wait to join the ranks, although I don't know what kind of reviewer I am other than "that one was really good, I loved it" LOL I will probably mostly just list what I am reading and what I want to read. We'll see.
Have a great day!
That's what kind of reviewer I am so don't feel badly - sometimes it's just nice to have someone else's comments to go from!!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of calling my new book blog "My Book Blog" LOL Seriously, I can't think of anything. Thanks for the suggestions though! They were good!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I SO do that often. Like I really do judge a book by its cover. If the author wasn't smart enough to choose a nice and attractive cover, then he won't be smart enough to write a decent book. So I don't even try to read them... unless they are award winning or something. So you go girl! If you don't like it, then feel freeeeeeeee to drop it!
ReplyDeleteI usually use the 50 page rule. Though sometimes I'll keep going even if a book doesn't catch me right away. Then I usually regret it!
ReplyDeleteI read THE EYRE AFFAIR too and didn't like it. I read it because I had heard good hype about it, but it just didn't do it for me.
I like your blog - can I post a link on mine?
